Gary Burke (born on 27 March 1991 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Bohemians in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland.
Gary was a member of the successful Belvedere side alongside the likes of Stephen Traynor and Craig Sexton who won the FAI Umbro under 17 Cup in 2009 by beating Kilmallock United.[1]
After moving to the senior ranks, he joined his local club Bohemians where he made his debut for the club in the Setanta Sports Cup against Coleraine on 6 October 2009. Gary started on the wing in a 0-0 draw between the teams.[2] During the 2010 season, he was a regular in their under 20s and "A" team that reached the Newstalk Cup final (A Team) and the Dr. Tony O'Neill Cup final (under 20s). Unluckily for him and Bohs, they would be defeated in both.[3][4] Burke also made his league debut in a 3-1 defeat to St. Patricks Athletic on 22 May[5], a week after being on the bench as Bohemians beat the same team to lift the Setanta Sports Cup trophy.[6]
With the financial uncertainty at Bohemians during the off season, Gary found himself a regular in the first team squad for the 2011 campaign.
